Nursing Program

The Associate Degree Nursing training program at Hazard Community and Technical College prepares graduates to utilize their skill and knowledge to satisfy the role of the nurse: improve human flourishing, display sound nursing judgment, continuously build professional identity, and possess a spirit of inquiry to enhance the high quality of patient care. Encompassed within these functions are the core aspects of context and environment, knowledge and science, personal/professional growth, high quality and safety, relationship-centered care, and collaboration. These core parts are introduced, created and developed upon through the curriculum.

Graduates are qualified to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). The Associate Degree Nursing curriculum is structured around a clearly outlined conceptual framework and incorporates general education and nursing courses. The nursing courses connect classroom and clinical instruction in many different community agencies.
