Nursing program

  • At Grand View, the baccalaureate training program resulting in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is a blend of liberal arts and also professional nursing education, which together lead to the learning required for those enthusiastic about becoming professional nurses.
  • The Nursing major builds significant ways to deal with situations in various health care environments. Student-faculty relationships create curriculum results that develop a nursing professional who values learning and also embodies a caring ethic.
  • Entering first-year pupils enthusiastic about nursing will assume as pre-nursing students. You will apply for official admittance to the nursing training program during your pre-nursing year. The Department of Nursing will accept pupils to the traditional nursing major two times
  • For the fall term: applications due date are February 1, the decision is made by the end of February. For the spring term: applications are due October 1, the decision is made by the end of October.

About the school

  • Grand View University is a non-public liberal arts college associated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Established in 1896, the school is situated in Des Moines, Iowa, USA and hosts 2,000 students in 40 undergraduate majors and four graduate programs.
  • Grand View offers twenty-five varsity sports for both males and females; its teams are known as the Vikings. The University is an associate of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and also competes in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Total estimated cost of attendance is approximately $24,960

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  • Must be accepted to Grand View University.
  • Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average to be admitted to Nursing.
  • Must have completed English 101, Biology 256, and Chemistry 107 with at least a grade of C.
  • Must achieve 80% or greater on the following two REACH A2 Examinations: Reading Comprehension and Basic Math Skills. If any of the A2 scores are less than 80%, the applicant may retake version two of the appropriate A2 examination. The applicant is allowed only these two attempts to achieve scores of 80% or above on the A2 examinations. It is highly recommended that students prepare for these exams using the A2 review book, which they may purchase or check out from the reserve shelf at the Grand View library. It is also highly recommended students complete Math 095 or Math 121.
