Nursing Program

Our associate degree in Nursing is a selective admission training program. You may apply into the training program solely after completion of all required prerequisite coursework. While completing your needed requirement coursework, you will probably have the ability to register for classes in our bachelor’s degree in Health Science. Once you have applied and also been accepted into our associate degree in Nursing training program, you will be then capable of taking the core nursing classes towards your associate degree in Nursing.

Upon completion of your degree, you will take the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) to become certified as a Registered Nurse. Once you have passed the NCLEX and are licensed as a Registered Nurse, you may wish to complete your bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Goodwin College provides you with the ability to complete the nursing coursework towards your associate degree in Nursing in as few as twenty months part-time. For your comfort, nearly all classes are available days as well as evenings. Clinical experiences are selected by lottery and there are day, evening and also weekend alternatives.

About the school

Goodwin College is a non-public, non-profit, 4-year institution situated on One Riverside Drive, East Hartford, Connecticut USA. The college offers a number of different certificate as well as associate degree programs in addition to bachelor’s degree programs in child study, health science, organizational studies, Registered Nurse-BSN as well as the newest public safety.

Goodwin College started as Data Institute Business School in 1962. In 2004, the college transitioned to not-for-profit status and was awarded accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). In 2008, the Connecticut Board of Governors for Higher Education approved Goodwin College to offer baccalaureate programs.

In 2005, Goodwin College started a major project to build a new campus along the Connecticut River in East Hartford. The college had acquired riverfront property which was the home of a defunct oil terminal, as well as took steps to redevelop the site in partnership with state and federal environmental agencies as well as the Connecticut Development Authority (CDA). The site had been chosen as a brownfield, or contaminated area, by the Environmental Protection Agency, and the college took out thirty large oil storage tanks and carried out soil remediation with the aid of state and federal funding.

Goodwin College is licensed by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. The Goodwin College nursing degree is licensed by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC). Connecticut River Academy is situated on the same campus as Goodwin College.

Total program cost is USD $19,450
