Nursing Program
The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program at Garden City Community College prepares students for entry into professional nursing. Upon successful graduation, the graduate is prepared to work in a variety of health-care settings in 3 interrelated roles: provider of care, manager of care, and member within the field of nursing.
The training program is configured to facilitate a professional ladder approach to nursing. Student successfully completing the PN training program will earn a certificate and are qualified to take the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCLEX-PN) examination to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). After earning Licensed Practical Nurse licensure, the pupil may sign up for entry into the ADN training program. Upon completion of the Associate Degree Nursing training program, students are awarded an Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS) and are qualified to take the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCLEX-RN) examination to become a Registered Nurse (RN).

Garden City Community College, commonly known as Garden City CC or GCCC, is a fully certified community college situated in Garden City, Kansas, United States Of America. Garden City Community College has regional certification by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
The GCCC Nursing Training program is certified by the Kansas State Board of Nursing as well as the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). Certain Garden City Community College programs have also received other specific individual certification. It was founded in 1919.
Garden City Community College was founded in 1919 to provide a way for post-secondary education for area citizens. The institution at first shared facilities in Sabine Hall and also Calkins Hall in the one hundred block of Buffalo Jones Avenue with Garden City High School and started with a first class of lower than three dozen pupils. The institution relocated to the then-new Garden City High School structure in 1954.
The Kansas Legislature passed the Community College Act in the year 1965, authorizing the building of 22 independent colleges such as Garden City Community College. At present Garden City Community College is among the nineteen Kansas community colleges
