NURSING PROGRAM
This program prepares pupils to practice as an entry-level registered nurse (RN) in a number of health-care functions.
With an AAS Degree in Nursing, you are qualified to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) examination for licensure as a RN. Our 2-year associate degrees are guaranteed to convert to 4-year public schools in Colorado.
FRCC’s nursing degree is accredited by the Colorado Board of Nursing and licensed by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing Inc. (ACEN).
This alternative permits students to finalized the first year of the AAS. Nursing and NUR 169 to obtain a certificate as well as meet the requirements to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses ( NCLEX-PN )
ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Front Range Community College (FRCC) is a 2-year institution of higher learning with campuses in Westminster Colorado, Longmont Colorado, Fort Collins Colorado, and Brighton Colorado. It is the biggest community college in Colorado as well as the most popular transferred institution for the University of Colorado-Boulder, Colorado State University and also Metropolitan State University of Denver.
FRCC tracks its history to the founding of the State Board for Community Colleges as well as Occupational Education in 1967, which in 1968 founded the North Campus of the Community College of Denver as its very first new establishment. In 1984 the North Campus was renamed as Front Range Community College and then twirled off as a completely independent institution in 1985. In 1988, the Larimer County Voc-Tech Center was amalgamated as the Larimer Campus of FRCC .

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
- Receipt of completed application for the nursing program(s).
- Minimum of 2.5 high school GPA for students without prior college work (GED acceptable).
- Eligibility for English 101, Math 116 (LPN) and MTH 100 (RN). 6.Eligibility for BIO 201 during the first term of Associate Degree nursing courses.
- BIO 201 and BIO 202 must have been completed within the last five years of program admission.
- Prerequisite (s) per the Upward Mobility curriculum must be met (ENG 101, MTH 100, BIO 201, BIO 202, and NUR 200).
- Proof of Graduation from a State Board of Nursing approved PN Program
- Meeting the essential functions or technical standards required for nursing.
You must have completed the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) prior to application. The TEAS test must have been taken within the last 3 years prior to admission. This test may be repeated only after a 6 week time period has lapsed.
