Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
All students admitted to the Franciscan University of Steubenville stating a preference for a major in Nursing are admitted according to the University admission criteria. Admission to pre-nursing does not guarantee admission to the nursing program. Pre-nursing students must apply in writing to be admitted to the nursing program during the spring term freshman year at a time designated by the nursing department. Characteristics of academics (minimum QPA 2.5 and completion of required course work) and personal commitment to the nursing profession are considered as part of the admission process for the major. - Minimum GPA 2.5
- A grade of C or above in the freshman year required science
- Completion of nurse entrace exam which is taken during the first two (2) weeks of the spring freshman term.
- Completion of the department application form.
- Submisson of a letter requesting admission to the major.
- Successful completion of the freshman year course work. If he Austria bound students does not successfully complete the required Microbiology course prior to going to Austria they will not be eligible to continue in the nursing major.
