Nursing Program
Fortis conveniently awards an associate degree nursing program at selected campuses in Indiana, Florida, South Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and Utah.
The Associate Degree in Nursing program is created to train students with high-quality academic and clinical instruction. The Fortis nursing program provides the skills and knowledge to equip students to sit for the NCLEX licensure exam and upon passing their licensure exam after graduation, pursue a career as an entry-level registered nurse in different hospital and clinical settings.
The nursing associate degree at Fortis prepares students in response to society’s current healthcare needs while evolving lifelong learners.
After graduation, associate degree in nursing students will take the NCLEX-RN examination to obtain licensure as a registered nurse.
About the school
Fortis College also known as Fortis Institute and Fortis College of Nursing in some places is a for-profit institution founded in 1969 and operated by Education Affiliates.
It was earlier known as Bohecker College, a sister school to RETS Technical Institute in Centerville, Ohio. Fortis awards certificates, diplomas and associate degrees at its 42 campuses.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
- A completed application for admission to the main college and the nursing department
- High school transcript or GED equivalent
- Official college transcript for qualifying courses
- A minimum 2.5 GPA on previous college coursework
- Level 2 Fingerprinting Background Check
- 10-panel drug screening
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
- Success on the HESI Admission Assessment (A2) exam
