Nursing program

  • The Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Training program prepares students to study Nursing as a field of knowledge and also as a profession grounded in caring science. Upon completion of training program, pupils will obtain the BSN degree. This degree is the beginning of professional Nursing.
  • The college prepare their BSN students to nurture the wholeness of people and also environment via caring as providers, designers, managers, and also coordinators of direct and indirect care of all individuals, families, groups, and populations.
  • The BSN training program is a limited access and highly competitive. As the training program is highly rigorous, it requires devotion on the part of the pupil. Clinical occurrences happen in a wide variety of hospital and community settings assisting various populations. The BSN graduates are ready as general clinical practitioners and also scholars in caring science; qualified for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) to be able to secure licensure as a Registered Nurse, and thus well prepared for graduate study in Nursing.
  • The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Accelerated Track (ABSN) is specifically built for the pupil with a baccalaureate degree in another field who desires to be a Registered Nurse (RN).

  • Florida Atlantic University (also referred to as FAU or Florida Atlantic) is a public university located in Boca Raton, Florida, USA, with five satellite campuses situated in the Florida cities of Dania Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Davie, Jupiter, also in Fort Pierce at the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution.
  • On July 15, in the year 1961, to satisfy the burgeoning educational requirements of South Florida, the state legislature passed an act authorizing the establishment of another institution in the City of Boca Raton.

Total estimated cost of attendance is approximate $23,500

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

Freshman Direct Admit: For applicants graduating from high school

To be considered for the Direct Admit Program, The College of Nursing will offer two application deadlines which are November 4th and February 15th. If students submit late or incomplete applications for the 11/4 deadline, they will subsequently have until 2/15 to submit all required documents to be considered for the Freshmen Direct Admit program.

Application Review Criteria:

  • High school GPA 3.60
  • SAT 1690/1250 or ACT 25 (preferred)

Accelerated BSN Admission Criteria

To be considered for admission to the Accelerated Bachelor of Science (BSN) Track the following factors are required.  Applications not meeting these criteria will not be reviewed:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA in all undergraduate work (this is the GPA calculated by NursingCAS).
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 undergraduate grade point average (GPA)
  • Successful completion of all prerequisites at the time of application:
  • *Anatomy & Physiology I with Lab
  • *Anatomy & Physiology II with Lab
  • *Microbiology with Lab
  • *College Algebra or equivalent
  • *Statistics
  • English Composition I
  • English Composition II
  • Introduction Sociology
  • Introduction to Psychology
  • Human Growth & Development through Lifespan
  • Chemistry with Lab
  • Nutrition

* Grades in these courses constitute the Pre-requisite Science GPA used for admission decisions – minimum ‘C’ earned in these courses

Admission Decision Criteria

This is a limited-access program and we receive many more qualified applications than available spaces. Admission decisions are based on the following:

  • Cumulative undergraduate GPA.
  • Pre-requisite science GPA
  • Other nursing common pre-requisites GPA.
  • An individual adjusted TEAS score.
  • Personal interview
