Evergreen Valley College is a community college situated on 175 acres in the southeastern foothills of San José, Santa Clara County, California, USA. As of Fall 2008, above 8,000 students from more than 70 nations were enrolled.
Evergreen Valley College graduated its very first class in 1975. Plans for a new college formally began nine years earlier in 1964, with the creation of the San José/Evergreen Community College District to control the existing San José City College and what would turn into Evergreen Valley College. The location was acquired in 1967, the college named Evergreen Valley College in 1970, and the very first two structures completed in 1975.
In recent times, bond measures permitted Evergreen Valley College to develop new classrooms and labs for biological sciences and nursing education programs, a center to accommodate student life, a new library, the Montgomery Hill Observatory and a new Visual and Performing Arts Center.
NURSING
The Evergreen Valley College (EVC) Nursing Training program provides an optimal learning environment that will allow the culturally different learner to begin the process of life-long learning as a registered nurse (RN). By earning an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing (ADN), training program graduates are qualified to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) and are ready for entry-level practice into the profession of nursing.
At the successful completion of the Nursing Program, the graduate conveniently performs in the following areas:
- Safe and also Effective Care Environment
- Health Campaign and Maintenance
- Psychosocial Credibility
- Physiological Credibility
- Professional Function of the Nurse

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
All completed with a grade “C” or better (must be completed prior to applying to the nursing program)

*Will accept a minimum of 4.0-semester units, if taken at another college
ENGL 001A English Composition
Note:
Nursing will not accept international coursework for the prerequisite classes.
