Nursing program

  • The University of Evansville (UE) is a small, non-public university in Evansville, Indiana, United States, with roughly 2,500 students. Established in the year 1854 as Moores Hill College, the University features liberal arts and also science degrees, most with solid cooperative learning possibilities both on and off campus.
  • The institution is associated with the United Methodist Church. The University of Evansville started in 1854 when Moores Hill Male and Female Collegiate Institute was established by John Moore in the small town of Moores Hill in southeastern Indiana.

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

Accepted students who meet the following required standards enter directly into the nursing program.

  • ACT score of 22 or above, SAT-I score of 1520 or above, or an SAT-R score of 1100 or above.
  • Rank in the upper third of high school class
  • Minimum four years English and three years mathematics
  • Minimum three years science, including grades of C or above in two semesters of chemistry
  • Students who do not meet admission criteria for direct entry into the nursing program are considered on an individual basis by the program’s Admission, Standards, and Progression Committee. Applicants to the program may be requested to arrange a personal interview with a faculty member.

UE also welcomes transfer students.

  • To apply as a transfer student, complete the transfer admission application indicating a desire to study nursing.
  • After being accepted by UE for admission, the application is reviewed separately by the nursing department.
  • Admitted students are placed at either the first or second year based on the number and types of courses completed and accepted for transfer credit.
  • In order to be considered for placement at the second year of admission, the transfer student needs a minimum of 30 hours of transfer credit applicable to the nursing degree, including courses equivalent to the anatomy and physiology (EXSS 112, EXSS 113) and chemistry (CHEM 108 or CHEM 118) courses at the University of Evansville.

RN-BSN Admission Requirements

  • Completion of diploma or associate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Unencumbered current United States registered nurse license.
