Nursing Program
The Associate in Applied Science Degree in nursing in Elizabethtown Community and Technical College offers a course that leads to positions that offer health-care in many different settings. The training program grooms graduates to provide and handle customer care and to become associates within the field of Nursing.
You will take a core of nursing classes taken in a block over four semesters. Those classes consist of off-campus components where you implement nursing competencies to hospital and other clinical functions. Furthermore, you’ll take anatomy and microbiology courses and also general education courses. The syllabus is structured around a clearly outlined conceptual framework which includes general education and nursing education. The nursing education classes correlate classroom and clinical instruction in many different community organizations. Classroom lectures are conducted at the institution and nursing faculty direct learning in the classroom and also clinical laboratory functions.

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) situated in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, United States, is among the 16 two (2) year, open-admissions colleges of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. It was created by the combination of Elizabethtown Community College (established 1964) and also Elizabethtown Technical College (established 1965) in 2004.
Elizabethtown Community and Technical College is certified by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In the year 1997, the Kentucky General Assembly passed the Postsecondary Education Enhancement Act of 1997, splitting up Kentucky’s community colleges from the University of Kentucky’s Community College System and combining them under a new organization, the Kentucky Community and also Technical College System.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
- The nursing program does have selective admission. Because a limited number of students can enroll each fall and spring, applicants are ranked by their grade point averages and their scores on either the ACT.
- You also need to have passed a 75-hour nurse aide course.
- You will also have to attend a preadmission conference seven or eight months before the semester you wish to begin.
