Nursing Program

The Nursing Institute’s mission is to train students to be lifelong learners, dependable community members, and industrious health care providers in a fast changing society. The Associate Degree Nursing program was established in 1970 to turn out a well-rounded nurse with critical thinking abilities to make proper decisions, communicate effectively, and serve as a member of a health care team that provides holistic care to culturally diverse clients.

About The School

The Eastern Florida State College, previously known as Brevard Community College is a state college in Brevard County, Florida. This college is a member of the Florida College System with four campuses in Palm Bay, Cocoa, Melbourne, and Titusville, also an Aerospace program at Kennedy Space Center plus a Virtual Campus. The college has provided services to more than 500,000 students since inception. The Titusville, Melbourne, Cocoa, and Palm Bay campuses, and online offer services to over 35,000 students annually. According to the statistics of the state Florida College System, the college has the highest graduation rate among community and state colleges in Central Florida. Eastern Florida State College is ranked 19th among more than 1,200 community colleges in the nation in awarding associate degrees.

Total program cost is USD $9,867.00

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include: 

Entrance Test (TEAS Test)

REQUIRED: Applicants must take the TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) Test for the Nursing RN (including Transition RN) and LPN programs. In order to be considered for program admission, each program requires a TEAS V Reading Comprehension score of 69% and an Adjusted Individual Total (overall) score of 58.7%. Total score must be achieved to be considered for admission into the ADN program. Several testing dates are scheduled prior to the application deadlines and are limited.

Test scores are valid for two years.

Grade Point Average

Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA to apply to the program. Points will not be given for GPA.
