Nursing Program
Dodge City Community College offers a traditional two years Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Degree with a practical nurse (PN) certification alternative after the very first year. The curriculum consists of theory and clinical experience in patient care in a number of settings. Pupils accepted into the traditional day training program attend classes on campus and also take part in clinicals during the week. All of the students who complete the ADN curriculum met the criteria to apply for licensure. Dodge City Community College is nationally certified by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and endorsed by the Kansas State Board of Nursing.

Dodge City Community College (known as DC3, DCCC) is a public community college situated in Dodge City, Kansas, United States.
Established in 1935, Dodge City Community College was situated on the 3rd floor of the Senior High School Building at 1601 First Avenue, for 22 years. By the year 1957, it had grown big enough to need a move to another location, at 1000 2nd Avenue. The Institution remained there for the next thirteen (13) years.
In the year 1965, the Kansas Legislature passed legislation changing control of the state’s junior schools from the State Board of Education to locally chosen Boards. Kansas junior colleges became legitimate community colleges, answerable to the people in their regions.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
Nursing Students are admitted to the college according to the policies of the Dodge City Community College. Acceptance to the college does not automatically ensure admission to the Associate Degree Nursing program. Acceptance to the program is a separate and competitive process.
- Completed Department of Nurse Education Application form
- Current cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or better in pre-requisite classes
- Composite entrance test scores of 58% or higher prior to March 1st
- Current Certified Nurse Aide licensure
- Complete all pre-requisite classes with at least a C and cumulative pre-requisite GPA of 2.75. Students completing prerequisites by the Spring semester prior to possible fall admission are given priority during application consideration over students who would be finishing prerequisites in the Summer prior to the fall admission. Science requirements (Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology I and II) must be current within the last 7 years.
- Complete an interview with the DCCC Department of Nurse Education prior to April 1st.
- Provide copy of entrance test scores to the Department of Nurse Education
- The Department of Nurse Education will accept no more than three entrance test score submissions per individual towards program admission. The test may be taken no more than twice in one academic year.
