Nursing Program

The associate degree nursing training program at Dakota College at Bottineau grooms people who have the knowledge, capabilities, and also competencies to practice nursing individually and interdependently via the applications of the nursing procedure in order to provide safe nursing care to persons and also families across the life span in many different settings.

Graduates of the training program may apply to sit and take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) which is necessary for practice as a registered nurse (RN). Employment opportunities consist of acute care centers, long-term care facilities, Industry, clinics, outpatient offices, and community agencies. Pupils admitted into the Dakota College at Bottineau Associate Degree Nursing Training program must conveniently pass a criminal history background check before registering for classes.

The training program is part of the Dakota Nursing Training program, a collaborative effort between Williston State College, Bismarck State College, and also Lake Region State College.

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is a two (2) year public college situated in Bottineau, North Dakota, United States of America.

Dakota College at Bottineau offers Associate of Applied Science programs in areas such as horticulture, forestry, natural resources, wildlife, nursing and medical, plus much more. Furthermore, Dakota College at Bottineau offers two-year Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science (AS) degrees with an emphasis on general education requirement for degree completion;  this AA and AS degrees are transferable to bachelor’s degree programs at a four-year college or university. Diploma, certificate, and certificate of completion programs are also offered, which need fewer credits completed than that essential for an associate degree. Pupils also have the choice of taking web-based classes from the convenience of their home.

Total estimated program cost is USD $9,132.50 to $12,045.50

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  1. Admission to DCB as well as completion of a formal application to the Dakota Associate Degree Nursing Program. Admission to the College does not guarantee admission to the ADN program. Application forms for admission to the Dakota Associate Degree Nursing Program may be obtained from the Nursing Coordinator during the first half of spring semester.
  2. Unencumbered license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the United States
  3. Minimum GPA of 2.75 in all prerequisite courses (including nursing classes) and an overall minimum GPA of 2.5.
  4. Pass a preadmission examination
  5. Completion of the following courses, each with a grade of C or better:
  • ENGL 110 – Composition I
  • PSYC 111 – Introduction to Psychology
  • BIOL 220 – Anatomy and Physiology I with Lab
  • BIOL 221 – Anatomy and Physiology II with Lab
  • PHRM 215 – Introduction to Pharmacology (must be within 7 years of ADN admission)
  • PSYC 250 – Developmental Psychology
  1. A certain level of English proficiency is necessary for academic success in nursing as well as for patient safety. In addition to general college English proficiency requirements, all applicants for whom English is not their native language (including International and/or U.S. residents) must meet additional language proficiency requirements for admission to the Dakota Nursing Program.  These requirements must be met prior to consideration.
