Through the school of Nursing’s accelerated BSN degree training program, you can do that in just 12-months. Enroll in the community of healers and also leaders in one of the nation’s most successful and also longest running accelerated nursing programs.
  • When you enter the Creighton University School of Nursing Traditional BSN training program as a freshman, you will attend Creighton College of Nursing on the Omaha campus for your core courses.
  • Creighton offers outstanding nursing programs on two campuses—in Omaha, the largest city in Nebraska, and also Hastings, situated in the county seat of Adams County in central Nebraska.

About the school

  • Creighton University is a non-public, coeducational, Jesuit, Roman Catholic university in Omaha, Nebraska, United States of America. Established by the Society of Jesus in the year 1878, the institution is one of twenty-eight member institutions of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. The school is certified by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Creighton is Nebraska’s biggest private religious University.
  • Sitting on a 140-acre campus just outside Omaha’s downtown business district, the school enrolls 8,435 graduate and undergraduate pupils.

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

Traditional BSN admission

  • High school GPA
  • ACT or SAT scores—We accept the highest composite score of the ACT and the best math and verbal scores on the SAT
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Personal statement to demonstrate creative abilities not reflected in your transcripts
  • Recommendation from high school counselor
  • Recommended four years of high school English, math and social science, along with three years of natural science, foreign language and electives
  • Honors sections and advanced placement courses will enhance a candidate’s application
  • High school chemistry or its equivalent with a “C” grade or better prior to enrolling at Creighton

ABSN ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

  • $50 application fee
  • Official transcripts from every university and college you attended
  • Proof of a bachelor’s or higher degree

  • Prerequisites:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in another discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Evidence of academic achievement of at least a 3.0 grade-point average or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • A’s (4.0) and B’s (3.0) are strongly encouraged, especially in natural science courses. A grade of C or below in any natural science course will decrease your chance for admission. You are required to have a C (2.0) or above in the following prerequisite courses:
  • 3 semester hours each of:
    • Intro to Sociology
    • General Psychology
    • Developmental Psychology
    • Ethics
    • Statistics
  • 2-3 semester hours of:
    • Nutrition
  • 4 semester hours each of:
    • Anatomy
    • Physiology
    • Inorganic/General Chemistry
    • Organic/Biochemistry
    • Microbiology
  • Science credits earned over 10 years ago will be individually evaluated

 

  • Files will be considered for acceptance after you have completed one of the following course sequences:
  • 2 chemistry courses and either anatomy or physiology
  • Anatomy and physiology and one chemistry course
