Craven Community College ADN-RN Nursing Program Prerequisites & Reviews.

Nursing Program

The Associate Degree Nursing curriculum at Craven Community College grooms people with the knowledge and competencies essential to provide nursing care to customers and groups of clients all through the life duration in many different settings.

Courses will include content related to the nurse’s position as a specialist of care, as manager of care, as affiliate of the discipline of nursing, and also as an associate of the interdisciplinary team.

Graduates of this training program meet the criteria to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), which is essential to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN). Employment possibilities include hospitals, long-term care facilities, physicians’ offices, industry, clinics, and community agencies.

The ADN training program starts in the fall. The Nursing Training program is endorsed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

About The School

Founded in the year 1965, Craven Community College in North Carolina was initially an expansion of Lenoir Community College—Craven IEC. It later on added degree-awarding programs in a number of technical fields and turned a technical institute.

New Bern is where majority of the classes and school offices are situated; it is also the seat of government for Craven County, United States. The structures in New Bern house the college studies and also pupil activities. A lot of pupils who attend this campus reside in New Bern or even surrounding areas, including Havelock.

Total estimated program cost is USD $11,150

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  1. Be a graduate of an accredited/registered high school or a recognized equivalency, such as a GED diploma.
  2. Have a minimum cumulative 2.50 GPA (not rounded). All transcripts are required by the end of Fall semester 2017. Craven GPA will be used if an applicant has completed 12 or more semester hours at Craven.
  3. Complete DRE 096 through DRE 098 by course completion or placement testing and be eligible to enroll in ENG 111 by the end of Fall semester 2017.
  4. Complete DMA 010 through DMA 050 by satisfactory course completion or placement testing by the end of Fall semester 2017.
  5. A chemistry course in high school or college (CHM 090 or above) must be completed by the end of Fall 2017 with an earned grade of ‘C’ or higher.
  6. All applicants must be listed on the NC registry as a CNA I or CNA
