Nursing Program

The A.D. Nursing training program is completely certified by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. Graduates of the training program are awarded an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree and have achieved the academic demands to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Registered Nurse (RN).

The training program provides a balance of general education and also nursing courses to prepare pupils for Registered Nurse placements. These graduates have an important function in the delivery of nursing care in hospitals, nursing homes, community agencies, and other health-care centers. Within these centers, graduates have chances to build their potential and to provide reliable nursing care by means of the application of nursing theory and also concepts from the behavioral and natural sciences

 Students who earn a D or F, or withdrew from the course, prior to receiving the passing grade will receive a deduction in ranking points.

 Students who have failed nursing course(s) at another institution will receive a deduction in points.

 Transfer credits are assigned the value of a “C” in the points ranking system, although all transcripts are reviewed by the Chairperson.

 Students with a previous college degree (Baccalaureate or higher) are given additional ranking points.  Please be sure the transcript on file at CCM shows your conferred degree.

 Students must have an institutional (CCM) GPA of a 2.5 or greater to be considered.

 Transfer credits or the points assigned for transfer credits do not affect the institutional (CCM) GPA.

 Transfer students who are interested in the Nursing Program at CCM and still need to take the required science or English courses are highly encouraged to take these at CCM.

 The application for the day study track for the professional (clinical) phase is due in Records and Registration by March 1st for a fall semester start.
