Colorado Mountain College’s Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing makes it possible for graduates to meet the criteria to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for licensed nursing. CMC nursing training program graduates show a very high success rate at or above the national as well as state NCLEX pass rate. The CMC nursing training course offers pupils with chances to proceed into the nursing profession. We emphasize initial experiential learning using clinical experiences in various health care environments. You will have the practical knowledge working in:

  • Acute care hospitals
  • Ambulatory care functions
  • Clinics, home health
  • Long-term care facilities
  • Physicians’ offices
  • And other healthcare platform

The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing is licensed by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). This program is accredited by the Colorado State Board of Nursing.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Colorado Mountain College ( CMC ) is a system of 11 community college campuses in western Colorado that offer associate degrees and, as of Fall 2012, award 2 bachelor’s degrees.In addition to in-person instructional classes, CMC provides distance learning, enabling pupils at 1 destination to hear as well as speak with their lecturers at other college sites. CMC provides a lot of the same introductory courses in arts and also sciences available at most four-year colleges, as well as career and even technical programs for careers in the open-air and resort fields. CMC offers qualified certifications as well as custom workforce coaching.

In addition to providing numerous recreational and also educational activities via student clubs, honor societies, and the rugged snow-sport centered terrain of the Colorado Western Slope, the Colorado Mountain College Ski Squad at Steamboat Springs campus is a member of the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association. RMISA consists of Division I Universities/Colleges in the West and is the most powerful college ski racing convention in the country.

As a community college, Colorado Mountain College provides a lot of associate degree program alternatives. Following authorization from CMC’s elected board of trustees, the Colorado Legislature, Bill Ritter as well as the Colorado Commission on Higher Education, on April 18, in the year 2011, the Higher Learning Commission accredited Colorado Mountain College to start offering two Bachelor’s degrees. In fall 2012, CMC started a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sustainability Studies. These degrees are offered at all eleven areas.

Undergraduate tuition and fees: In-state tuition: 1,548 USD, Out-of-state tuition: 7,788 USD

 

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include: 

  1. A grade of “C” or higher (not C-) is required in general education and nursing courses
  2. ENG 121 English Composition I
  1. BIO111 General College Biology with Lab 5 credits (max points 16 for “A”)
  2. BIO201/221 Anatomy & Physiology I with Lab 4 credits (max points 16 for “A”)
  3. BIO202/222 Anatomy & Physiology II with Lab 4 credits (max points 16 for “A”)
  4. BIO204 Microbiology 4 credits (max points 16 for “A”)
  5. PSY235 Human Growth & Development 3 credits (max points 9 for “A”)
  1. You must demonstrate college-level proficiency in reading, writing and mathematics as part of acceptance into this program.
  2. Students must have a GPA of 2.4 to be considered for admission to the nursing program
  3. Computer competency is strongly recommended if you are seeking admission into the ADN nursing program.
