NURSING PROGRAM

This program is meant for a Certified Practical Nurse to attain an Associate of Applied Science/Registered Nurse degree, setting up better career chances, improved compensation, and more job protection.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

 

Colorado Mesa University (CMU), initially referred to as Mesa State College is a public comprehensive university or college in Grand Junction, Colorado. The university’s main campus is at central Grand Junction.

 

The university has several other campuses also: Bishop Campus, which accommodates Western Colorado Community College in north-western Grand Junction; as well as a district campus in Montrose, Colorado. Colorado Mesa University awards 2-year associate degrees, 4-year bachelor’s degrees, as well as master’s degrees.

 

Earlier referred to as Mesa State College (MSC), the school obtained university level in August in the year 2011, switching its name to Colorado Mesa University.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include: 

  • Completed Application for Admission form
  • Official high school transcripts or GED scores
  • Minimum of 2.5 high school GPA for students without prior college work (GED acceptable).
  • SAT I or ACT test scores
  • $30 application fee
  • Letter(s) of recommendation (optional)
  • Personal Essay (optional)
  • High School GPA
  • Test Scores—either SAT and/or ACT (if taking the SAT, visit the Khan Academy to prep for the exam)
  • Academic course mix and rigor (see below for more information)
  • Extracurricular activities and other considerations (includes internships, work, sports, leadership, etc.)
