Nursing Program
Collin College Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Training program grooms pupils to make application to the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) for licensure as a registered nurse via the NCLEX examination.
The Nursing program is endorsed by the Texas BON and certified by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Students must fulfill eligibility prerequisites for licensure as set up by the Texas BON. Collin County health-care amenities support the ADN training program. The Nursing curriculum permits deep learning and also promotes higher level clinical judgment.

Collin College initially referred to as the Collin County Community College District, CCCCD, or simply CCCC, is a community college district which serves Collin and also Rockwall regions, situated north and northeast of Dallas, United States.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
Admission to the Nursing Program is selective. Admission to the college does not guarantee admission to the Nursing Program. Registration is by permission only.
- Complete pre-entrance course requirements with a minimum 2.5 GPA
- Earn a grade of “C” or better in all courses applicable to the Nursing program
- Submit official copies of all college transcripts to include Collin College
- Complete the PSB (Nursing School Aptitude Exam) prior to the Jan. 31st, March 31st or Aug. 31st deadline with a satisfactory result
- Successful completion of drug screen, background check and physical / mental competencies, and dental exam.
- Submit a current American Heart Association CPR for Health Care workers
- Provide a current negative TB test
- Complete a declaratory order from the Texas BON, if needed
- Show positive titer immunizations required by the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) *
COLLIN COLLEGE LVN-RN Bridge Program
- A completed application to Collin College LVN Bridge Program. **Please note all requirements for the generic nursing student are also in effect for the Bridge applicant.**
- Official transcripts from all colleges attended, including Collin College, must be sent to the Admissions Office and to the Attention of the Nursing Department.
- GPA (cumulative) of at least 2.5 or higher from all completed courses.
- Satisfactory completion (grade of “C” or better) of the prerequisite courses required for admission: Biology 2401 (A & P I), Biology 2402 (A & P II), Biology 2420 (Microbiology). Please note biology courses are acceptable only if taken within five years of application deadline. Cumulative GPA on the three prerequisite courses should be 2.5 or above. At least two out of the three prerequisite courses must be complete to apply, and the third prerequisite course must be in progress at the time of application.
- Immunizations with required documentation. (Records should not be sent to Nursing office until the student has been accepted into the program)
- Transcript showing successful completion of a Vocational Nursing program.
- Copy of a current LVN license.
- Letter of recommendation/employment verification is required at the time of application. The letter must indicate current employment status and work experience as an LVN. Applicants must have worked as an LVN full-time during the 6 months preceding application to the program.
- Must have taken the PSB exam within the last year.
- HESI Mobility (second entrance exam) will be administered once nursing admission requirements have been met. Nursing Department will contact applicant regarding scheduling.
- Must have proof of current CPR certification.
- Completion of Pharmacological math proficiency test at 90% or better during the Bridge semester.
- Drug screening test and criminal background check through a Collin College approved company.

Did my ADN here and I cannot complain much. Great instructors and well diverse. Clinical rotations in plano were awesome, psych in Mckinney Wysong was great.
Make sure to do your homework and you'll be fine. Hard to get in though. Must have 4.0 GPA and a lot of support classes and pass entrance exam
