College of San Mateo (generally known as CSM) is a community college in San Mateo, California, USA. It is a part of the San Mateo County Community College District.
College of San Mateo is situated in the northern corridor of Silicon Valley and also located on a 153-acre site in the San Mateo hills. Architect John Carl Warnecke created the campus. The College presently serves about 10,000 day, evening and weekend students. The college offers 79 A.A. /A.S. degree majors, seventy-five certificate programs as well as an estimated 100 transfer areas and majors.
The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges fully authorizes the College of San Mateo.
NURSING
The College of San Mateo Nursing Training program provides pupils with opportunities/chances for learning at the College, local hospitals, and community health agencies. The program is fully authorized by the California Board of Registered Nursing (RN). Upon graduation, the candidate obtains an Associate in Science degree in Nursing and is qualified to take the National Council Licensing Exam (NCLEX-RN) examination. The graduate is also qualified to move to programs offering a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
In response to a survey of hospitals, schools, health officials, and other agencies, the Associate Degree Nursing Training program was started in the fall of 1963 to meet the demand for registered nurses in the community. The very first class graduated in 1965 soon after the new CSM campus on the hill was opened.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
To be eligible to apply, the following requirements must be completed during or before the fall semester prior to applying to the nursing program. Prerequisite courses must be completed with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. With no grade lower than C. In addition, Anatomy, Physiology, and
Microbiology must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better. Students may not repeat a Biology course where the grade is “C’ or higher to meet CSM Nursing Program admissions eligibility. Refer to Repeat Policy on the CSM nursing website.

- Math 120 or Math 122 & 123 or higher Math, e.g., Math 200
- Take CSM Math Placement Test and place into Math 125 or higher
