Nursing Program
The College of the Mainland Associate Degree Nursing Training program grooms pupils for satisfying careers via practical classes, labs, and also clinical experiences at health care amenities. Professors tutor small classes, are available for extra assistance and also commit themselves to students’ success.
Nursing tutors are available for personal and also group periods at no cost to the pupil. Registered nurses (RNs) provide patient care at doctors’ offices, clinics and also hospitals. The Pre-licensure Track is made for the applicant without an existing LVN license. Graduates of the ADN training program meet the criteria to apply for registered nurse (RN) licensure by examination.
The LVN-Registered Nurse Transition is made for the licensed vocational nurse (LVN) aspirant who wants to transition to the registered nurse (RN) position. Graduates of the ADN Training program meet the requirements to apply for licensure by examination as registered nurses.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
- Apply to the college
- Submit official transcripts and a Transcript Evaluation Form to COM Admissions Department for all colleges attended (except COM)
- Allow at least 2 weeks for the evaluation to be completed (allow 2-3 months during peak times)
- All transferred courses must be in the Student Information System (SIS) to be eligible for admission to nursing
- Meet college ready TSI requirements for Reading, Writing, & Math
- Complete all prerequisite courses with a final grade of C or higher
- ENGL 1301 Composition I
- PSYC 2301 Introduction to Psychology
- BIOL 2401 Human Anatomy and Physiology I
- BIOL 2402 Human Anatomy and Physiology II
- BIOL 2420 Microbiology
- Earn a prerequisite grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.80.
LPN-RN TRANSITION TRACK
- Apply to the college
- Submit official transcripts and a Transcript Evaluation Form to COM Admissions Department for all colleges attended (except COM)
- Allow at least 2 weeks for the evaluation to be completed (allow 2-3 months during peak times)
- All transferred courses must be in the Student Information System (SIS) to be eligible for admission to nursing

- Must have current, unencumbered Texas LVN license
- Complete all prerequisite courses with a final grade of C or higher

What do I do next?
I am an international student of HCC.
I have completed my Nursing prerequisites from HCC IN SPRING 2020 and I want to transfer to College od Mainland, Texas.
I have applied to COM online.
I have also transferred my transcripts to COM today. What is next for me to do on the admission process as an F1.
And my intention is to get admmitted into fall 2020 ADN nursing in college of the mainland.
