Nursing Program
After successfully completing the two (2) year ADN training program at Clatsop Community College, you will earn an Associate of Applied Science- Nursing Degree and are qualified to take the licensing examination for registered nursing (RN).
Registered nurses (RNs) are caring and also utilize knowledge, skills, and also problem-solving expertise to assist people, families, and also groups with health needs. Registered Nurses plan, care, and also work with individuals to enable them to become much healthier or to regain health right after illness or perhaps surgery.
Pupils applying for either re-entry or even advanced placement must first plan an appointment with Allison Sansom, Director of Nursing and Allied Health.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
- GPA REQUIREMENT: A cumulative 3.0 GPA for college credits earned on prerequisite course work. Applicants must have completed at least 30 Nursing Program prerequisite credits to meet minimum qualifications.
- WRITING REQUIREMENT: Completion of WR 121 English Composition completed with a grade of C or above.
- MATH REQUIREMENT: MTH 95 Intermediate Algebra or higher excluding MTH 98, 103, 105, 211, 212, or 213 completed with a grade of C or above taken after September 1, 2010. The program will accept a grade of “Pass” for MTH 95 Intermediate Algebra, if that is the only grading option available for this course.
MTH 98 Quantitative Literacy, MTH 103 Applied College Algebra, MTH 105 Math
in Society, MTH 211, 212, 213 Fundamentals of Elementary Mathematics I, II, III
are not eligible courses and may not be used to meet the math requirement.
- ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY: Human Anatomy and Physiology I, (BI 231) or the equivalent as determined by the Clatsop Community College Registrar’s Office
completed with a grade of C or above, taken after September 1, 2010.
- Test of Essential Academic Skills – TEAS test: As part of the selection process for acceptance into the nursing program at Clatsop Community College, all applicants will be required to take the TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) exam. The exam must be taken within the last 6 months. A score of “Proficient” will receive 2 points, a cumulative adjusted score of >70 will receive 5 points.
