Nursing Program

Clark College’s Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Training program is the largest in Washington State. Clark’s training program offers entry-level Registered Nurse education with more than 250 presently enlisted students who provide clinical care in nearly every leading hospital and medical center in the Portland/Vancouver Metropolitan region. Students are mentored by roughly 13 regular and twenty part-time faculties and are hired everywhere in Southwest Washington and also all through the Portland area.

Clark’s nursing training program is situated at Clark College at Washington State University Vancouver. New, state-of-the-art laboratories are utilized for coaching nursing students, including a simulation lab for creating life-like clinical situations for student evaluation and response.

Students in the Nursing training program, experience prolonged periods of great physical exertion, for instance, long hours of walking, bending, standing, reaching,  and twisting. Nurses move and lift up patients as well as other tools weighing over 25 pounds.

To be able to advance from one course or quarter to the subsequent after beginning the Nursing program, the student must attain a grade of 2 .0 or higher in all needed courses and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2 .0 or higher.

About the school

Clark College is a college situated in Vancouver, Washington, just north of Portland, Oregon, United States. The college’s primary campus is on 101 acres in Vancouver’s Central Park.

The college was initially founded in 1933 as a private, two-year, junior college. The College formally became a public institution in 1958, and presently has about 14,000 students. The college is completely authorized by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.

Initially referred to as Vancouver Junior College, the college was situated at the old Hidden House at 100 W 13th Street in downtown Vancouver from 1933-1937, relocating many times within the city. The primary campus was previously part of the Vancouver Barracks, which extended from 4th Plain to the Columbia River but were ceded by the U.S. Army to the city to evolve into Central Park.

Aside from providing a number of associate degrees, general adult education and preparation for four (4) year university degrees, Clark College has courses in nursing, dental hygiene and industrial arts for example welding and auto maintenance.

Total tuition cost is USD $8,400

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  2. ENGL& 102, English Composition II, OR ENGL 109,
  3. Writing About Sciences 5 cr.
  4. PSYC& 200, Lifespan Psychology, 5 cr.
  5. BIOL& 251, Human Anatomy & Physiology 1, 4 cr.
  6. BIOL& 252, Human Anatomy & Physiology 2, 4 cr.
  7. BIOL& 253, Human Anatomy & Physiology 3, 4 cr.
  8. BIOL& 260, Microbiology, 5 cr.
  9. CHEM& 121, Introduction to Chemistry, 5 cr.
  10. NUTR 103, Nutrition, 3 cr.
