Nursing Program
Clackamas Community College is an associate in the Oregon Consortium for Nursing Education (OCNE). The curriculum in Oregon Consortium for Nursing Education Nursing programs is a competency-based curriculum established in collaboration with Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) as well as other community institutions around the state.
This curriculum is endorsed by the Oregon State Board of Education along with the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN). Upon successful completion of the Clackamas Community College nursing training program, pupils will be qualified to earn their Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in nursing and sit and take the national examination (NCLEX-RN) for registered nurse licensure.
Graduates of the nursing training program at Clackamas Community College should be well prepared for entry-level employment as a registered nurse (RN).

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
Students are eligible to be considered for admission to the nursing program after completing 30 credit hours of the Prerequisite/Required Preparatory courses listed below:
- BI-231 Human Anatomy/Physiology I
- BI-232 Human Anatomy/Physiology II
- BI-233 Human Anatomy/Physiology III
- FN-225 Nutrition
- MTH-095 Algebra III
- PSY-215 Introduction to Developmental Psychology
- WR-121 English Composition
- WR-122 English Composition
BI-231 (Human Anatomy/Physiology I) must be completed and math competency must be demonstrated prior to submission of program application. Completion of BI-234 prior to entry into the nursing program is strongly recommended. Failure to pass this course during fall term will prevent progression in the nursing program. As of fall term of the 2018-19 catalog year BI-234 will be a pre-requisite to the nursing program and must be completed prior to the start of the first term for accepted nursing students.
A total of 45 credit hours of the Prerequisite/Required Preparatory courses must be completed prior to the start of the first term of the nursing program.

- Prerequisite/Required Preparatory Course credits prior to starting NRS course work during first term of nursing program: 45
Completion of all Prerequisite/Required Preparatory courses must be with a letter grade of C or better. Plus and minus grade will not be factored into the GPA calculations. If a course has been taken more than once, the most recent grade received will be the course considered. Application to the nursing program requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 for all completed Prerequisite/Required Preparatory courses.
