Nursing Program

The City College nursing program is planned to prepare candidates to take the NCLEX-RN exam after successful graduation, also to work as a first-class proficient caregiver and an essential member of the health team.

Students are trained on how to administer medications, maintaining proper dosages and avoiding interactions efficiently; and how to commence, sustain and withdraw intravenous (IV) lines for fluid, medication, blood and blood products. It ensures expertise in consulting with physicians and other healthcare clinicians, administering therapies and treatments; observing patients and recording those observations.

The curriculum centers on holistic nursing and the promotion of wellness as the basis for performing medical techniques and delivering advanced patient care. The Florida nursing college allows students opportunities for valuable, hands-on experience at some of South Florida’s more progressive medical centers and acute care hospitals, giving them insight and practical exercise in real-world nursing environments.

Official transcripts may be provided to the academic department prior to enrollment, but no later than 30 days after the start of the initial term of enrollment. Transfer students must provide official transcripts from all colleges they attended no later than thirty (30) days after the start of their first term at City College.
