Nursing Program
Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) Graduates earn an Associates of Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Nursing Technology with this traditional 5-semester plan of study.
The program provides a balance of general education and also nursing courses. Carefully planned clinical laboratory experiences are a critical element of all nursing courses and also encompass caring for all age groups in numerous patients care functions. Associated health-care facilities in central and east central Ohio are utilized to provide clinical experiences for pupils.
Associate Degree in Nursing Training program is certified by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. It also endorsed by the Ohio Board of Nursing. Central Ohio Technical College offers a four-semester transition option for Licensed Practical Nurses.

Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) is a public two (2) year technical college situated in Newark, Ohio, United States, with expanded campuses in Knox, Pataskala, and Coshocton.
Established in 1971, Central Ohio Technical College is situated on a shared campus with Ohio State University at Newark and presently offers 31 associate degree programs and 12 certificate programs, such as the Associate of Applied Science (AAS), Associate of Applied Business (AAB), and Associate of Technical Studies degrees.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
- Submit the COTC Application for Admission Form online.
- Attend a mandatory Nursing Information Meeting.* (Valid 12 months.) Visit cotc.edu/healthinfomeetings for more information.
- Complete COTC Placement Tests or proof of waiver eligibility. If applicant places into pre-college coursework (genr 091/math 080), those courses must be successfully completed with a grade “C” or higher prior to the Nursing Application deadline.
- Submit official high school transcript with date of graduation and GPA (cumulative grade point average) indicated. If not a high school graduate, copy of G.E.D. certificate.
- Submit official college transcripts from all colleges previously attended with GPA (cumulative grade point average) indicated.
NOTE:
All international transcripts (high school and college(s)) must be evaluated through a member or NACES
LPN-ADN TRANSITION
- Submit the Application for Admission Form online.
- Complete COTC Placement Assessment or proof of waiver eligibility. If applicant places into pre-college coursework (genr 091/math 080), those courses must be successfully completed with a grade “C” or higher prior to the Nursing Application deadline.
- Attend a mandatory Nursing Information Meeting.* (Valid 12 months.) Visit cotc.edu/healthinfomeetings for more information.
- Unencumbered Ohio (OBN registry) LPN license with Meds yes approval. IV approval is also desirable.
- Submit official high school transcript with date of graduation and GPA (cumulative grade point average) indicated. If not a high school graduate, copy of G.E.D.
- Submit official LPN school and college transcripts from all schools/ colleges previously attended with GPA (cumulative grade point average) indicated.
