Nursing Program

With the exceptional type of program for students who want to specialize in Nursing, Central Maine Community College provides several exit curriculum, training students for Associate Degree Nursing Programs such as Practical and Registered Nurses.

The year one will offer the necessary knowledge for practical nursing and the Associate in Science degree program. Students have the option to enroll in the Registered Nurse program at the Auburn campus or at the Lincoln Country Healthcare Center. The graduate will holistically assess patient needs in the whole process of the collection, analysis, and synthesis of significant data for the delivery of patient care.

About The School

Central Maine Community College was established in 1963 as (Androscoggin State Vocational Institute) and located in Auburn, Maine before changing to CMTC (Central Maine Technical College). The college is one of the seven schools in the Maine Community College System. After a couple of other name changes, it finally became Central Maine Community College (CMCC) on July 1, 2003.

Central Maine Community College has the accreditation of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc., a nationally recognized non-governmental organization, which certifies private and public colleges and universities all over New England that meet its standards.

Total Cost In-State On-Campus: $28,526.00
Total Cost Out-State On-Campus: $33,446.00
Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

All applications will be evaluated for admission as soon as possible after applicants have submitted the following:

A properly completed Application for Admission and a non-refundable $20.00 application fee.

An official high school transcript for all years attended, including at least the first marking period for the senior year (for current high school seniors).  A final transcript will be needed for all graduating seniors prior to the first day of classes. For non-high school graduates, official GED test scores are required.  Students who have been matriculated at a regionally-accredited college or university and who have earned at least 15 college-level credits do not need to supply their high school transcript or GED.

If applicable, official college transcripts from all colleges attended. A final transcript with final grades will be needed prior to the first day of classes.

Documentation of all program prerequisites. Prerequisites may appear on the high school or adult education transcripts, prior college transcripts, or other documentation. Please carefully review the prerequisites for the preferred program of study. Prospective applicants who do not meet these requirements are strongly encouraged to contact the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid to discuss alternatives and may start in the General Studies program.

For Nursing Program applicants only: Results of the HESI Exam must be submitted to the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid by the January 31st application deadline.
