Nursing program
- The Bachelor of Science in Nursing training program at California State University, Stanislaus has four different options
- The Pre-licensure track is built for people enthusiastic about pursuing a career in Nursing. Once an undergraduate completes this baccalaureate training program and is awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), they are qualified to apply and take the licensure by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
- The RN-BSN track is built to fulfill the needs of working registered The program is created to advance the associate degree Registered Nurses to the next level in the profession, preparing the graduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing Nurse for professional leadership positions.
- The Accelerated Second Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ASBSN) training program, offered at our Stockton Center campus, is built for individuals who: hold a baccalaureate degree in a field other than nursing, meet up with the prerequisites, and are ambitious to become registered nurses. At the successful completion of the training program, pupils are awarded a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and are qualified to take the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
- The ASBSN training program has been endorsed by the California Board of Registered Nursing and is ultimately certified by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
- The LVN-BSN Information allows a nursing professional to receive their Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing to advance their career prospects. Applicants are examined on an individual basis as space allows. Licensed Vocational Nurse-BSN pupils who are accepted are admitted to an existing cohort in the Pre-licensure training program. Licensed Vocational Nurse students are admitted on a space available basis.

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
PRE-LICENSURE BSN TRACK
Prerequisites:
- CHEM 2100 Chemistry & Biochemistry for Nurses I (B.1) (general, inorganic, organic or integrated chemistry will be accepted. Minimum 3 units)
- ZOOL 2250 Anatomy w/Lab (On-site supervised Lab required. Online courses not acceptable. Minimum 4 units)
- ZOOL 2235 Physiology w/Lab (On-site supervised Lab required. Online courses not acceptable. Minimum 4 units)
- MBIO 2010 Microbiology for Nursing w/Lab (On-site supervised Lab required. Online Courses not acceptable. Minimum 4 units)
- ENGL 1001 First Yr Comp (A.2), or ENGL 1002, or ENGL 1005, or ENGL 1007
- COMM 2110 Group Discussion (A.1) or COMM 2000 Public Speaking (A.1)
- ENGL 2000 Critical Inquiry (A.3) or PHIL 2000 Philosophical Inquiry or PHIL 2005 or PHIL 2100 (A.3), or COMM 2300 (A.3)
- MATH 1600 Statistics (B.3)
- Overall GPA of 3.0
- Science prerequisite GPA of 3.0 {Grade of C or better in each prerequisite course}
- Non-Science prerequisite GPA of 3.0 {Grade of C or better in each prerequisite course}
- No more than 1 science prerequisite and 1 non-science prerequisite course may be repeated.
- At least 2 non-science prerequisites must be completed at the time of application.
- At least 2 science prerequisite courses must be completed at the time of application.
- All pre-requisite courses must be taken for letter grade (No pass/fail or credit/no credit)
- Minimum test score (Adjusted Individual Total Score) of 70% on the ATI TEAS test.
ADN TO BSN ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Current California R.N. license
- Nursing application (request from School of Nursing) with official transcripts
- Clinical letter (not required of new graduates)
- University admission
- Completion of 60 semester units of baccalaureate level transferable college credit including mathematics and critical thinking General Education requirements
- Completion of a minimum of 30 semester units of nursing coursework, earning a 2.0 (C) or better or the equivalent
- Completion of a 3 semester unit college level English composition course with a 2.0 (C) or better
ACCELERATED SECOND BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING
- Apply for admittance to Stanislaus State ($55 application fee). Fill out University paper based application and submit with ASBSN program application packet.
- *Submit a paper application for admission to the ASBSN program ($60 application fee).
- Provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Official transcripts must be provide by the close of the application period.
- Have earned a BA or BS from an accredited institution in a discipline other than Nursing.
- Have a minimum TEAS score of 70% (most recent version). Please note: Only the highest ATI TEAS score of the applicants first 3 attempts will be used.
LVN-BSN OPTION
- Apply to the University via csumentor.edu . Priority deadline is August 1st through August 31th for Spring admission
- Schedule your ATI testing by contacting the School of Nursing at (209) 667-3141. All three ATI exams must be completed at the time of application
- Overall GPA of 3.0
- Science prerequisite GPA of 3.0
- Non-science prerequisite GPA of 3.0
- Grade of C or better in each prerequisite course (cannot have a pass/fail or credit/no credit)
- No more than 2 prerequisite courses may be repeated (1 science and 1 non-science)
- Complete the ATI TEAS exam with a minimum Adjusted Individual Test Score of 70%
- Complete the ATI Fundamentals and Pharmacology Exam with a minimum score of Level I proficiency on each exam
- A Valid LVN license
Prerequisities:
Students must successfully complete all prerequisites with a minimum grade of C or better
