Nursing program
- The CCNE certifies the BSN degree in nursing at California State University Channel Islands and Endorsed by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
- The CSU Channel Islands graduate nurse looks for ways to fix societal health needs and problems, understanding demographics and also disparities in health-care, moral concerns and global views in the practice of professional nursing at the generalist level. There are several options to earn a BSN at California State University Channel Islands, which are as follows:
- Track I Generic BSN Prelicensure training program at Camarillo’s primary campus is for the pre-nursing pupil who will complete the eight nursing pre-requisite courses by the Spring semester before the Fall training program begin. Three-year training program including summers.
- Track I Generic BSN Prelicensure training program at Cottage Health System is for the pre- nursing pupil who will have completed the ten nursing pre-requisite courses, and the CSU GE requirements in the Fall semester, before the Spring training program begin. (Administered via Extended University). 2.5 Year Training program including summers.
- Associate Degree in Nursing to BSN Fast Track is for the Associate degree nurse who has in recent times completed an ADN nursing training program within a year and is planning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (Administered via Extended University). Fifteen Month Training program includes Two entire semesters and two full summer terms.
- Track II RN to BSN is for present RNs only who are planning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (Administered via Extended University). 22 Month Training program including summers

- Complete all nursing major prerequisite courses or their equivalents with a grade of C or better:

- Cannot accept any fundamental level chemistry courses

- Completion of critical thinking requirement
- Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam version VI (The new ATI TEAS) must be electronically sent to the Nursing Department during the Nursing Program application period (TEAS Exam dates will be offered at CI in January and June)
Track I Generic BSN Pre – licensure program at Cottage Health System
- Apply to CSU Channel Islands (csumentor.edu ) Declare major: BS at Cottage Health System.
- Apply to the Nursing Program (Nursing Application).
- Submit Official Transcripts to CSU Channel Islands Admissions (Camarillo, CA) AND to the Nursing Department
- Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam version VI results must be electronically sent to the Nursing Department during the Cottage Nursing Program’s August application period.
- Have the following nursing prerequisite courses or their equivalent with a C or better:
- BIOL 210 Human Anatomy and Physiology I (4 units with lab)
- BIOL 211 Human Anatomy and Physiology II (4 units with lab)
- BIOL 217 Medical Microbiology (4 units with lab)
- CHEM 110 Chemistry of Life (4 units with lab)
- our program will accept general, inorganic, organic, integrated chemistry, or chemistry of life (with associated lab if required at the institution where the course was taken). Cannot accept any introductory level chemistry courses.
