Nursing Program
The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) is in its 60th calendar year since its creation and execution by Dr. Mildred Montag, Columbia University, and Teachers College. ADN training program was created and based on numerous premises, still demonstrated at present by Bucks County Community College AD Nursing Training program.
The Associate Degree Nursing Training program is provisionally endorsed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and is certified by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) referred to in earlier times as the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Additionally, there is LPN-ADN Track.

Bucks County Community College is a two (2) year community college situated in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia. USA. Established in the year 1964, Bucks has three campuses and web-based courses: an “Upper County” campus in the town of Perkasie, a primary campus in Newtown, and a “Lower County” campus in the town of Bristol. There are also numerous satellite amenities situated throughout the region.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
- Pennsylvania Licensed Practical Nurses: A current, valid, unencumbered LPN license that reflects an accurate address which must be available through electronic verification on the PA State Board of Nursing website.
- Once criteria are met, preference is given to Bucks County residents who are graduates from:
- The Bucks County Community College PN Program
- Any accredited school of practical nursing by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
- Graduates from a Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing approved School of Nursing.
- Admission to the College and the Nursing Program of Study (2035)
- A final, official high school transcript or a copy of GED in the Admissions Office: A transcript marked “issued to student,” unsealed, or missing the Registrar’s signature or school seal, will be marked as unofficial. A transcript is considered final official when a date graduated, for high school, and a degree conferred, for college, is stated.
- A grade of C or better as applicable in any courses attempted within the Program of Study.
- A GPA of 3.0 or better preferred at Bucks County Community College.
- All students must have taken, or have been granted a waiver, for the reading, writing, and math assessment tests.
- Pre-requisite or co-requisite courses MUST BE COMPLETED with a grade of and time limit as following before challenging Nursing I clinical skills:
- CHEM101 – Chemistry A (C or better)
- BIOL181 – Human Anatomy and Physiology I (Grade of B in last 7 years)
- COMP110 – English Composition I (C or better)
- NURS120 – Dosage Calculations (B or better in this course)
- Attend an information session. Seek advising from the appointed advanced placement advising specialist.
- Apply for advanced placement to complete the challenge examination.
- Before the day of the exam Credit by Examination form together with a check in the amount of $200 must be completed and submitted to the Student Accounts Department, The Hub, prior to the Challenge.
