Nursing program
- A BSN degree at Blessing-Rieman is a 4-year degree training program with a major in nursing. The liberal arts program is a standard, where pupils are required to obtain general education courses and also required courses in the major. Pupils take general education courses (math, English, science, etc.) on the affiliate school’s campus and also take all nursing courses at BRCN, with clinical experiences (practical training) at Blessing Hospital as well as other area health care agencies.
- Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing and Health Sciences demands that all pupils complete a criminal background check and also drug screening after they have been informed of preliminary acceptance but before sophomore classes start. There are various options to enter the training program.
- Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing RN-BSN training program has authorization from the Illinois Board of Higher Education and is Certified by the CCNE.

- Blessing-Rieman has offered an excellent nursing education for more than 100 years. Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing (BRCN) offers a 4-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree via two joint programs with their associates, Culver-Stockton College and also Quincy University, USA.
- Blessing-Rieman also offers a Master of Science in Nursing degree training program. Registered Nurses (RNs) with a BSN degree have the option of the two-year traditional MSN training program with an emphasis in either education or even administration.

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
First Time Freshman (Basic Degree Track)
The Basic Track program is for students:
- Just out of high school.
- Considering a new career.
- Have no prior college credit, or less than 24 hours of credit to transfer.
In this degree track you will enter in as a freshman, spending the first year completing general education courses at one of the partner schools and then beginning nursing classes and clinical experiences your sophomore year which continue through the junior and senior years. For first priority acceptance you are required to have a 22 or higher ACT score and a 3.0 or higher high school GPA.
The first step in applying for the basic track Bachelors of Science in Nursing program is to first apply to one of our partner schools, Culver- Stockton College www.culver.edu or Quincy University www.quincy.edu.
Transfer Students (Basic Degree Transfer Track)
To transfer in as a transfer sophomore you must meet the following requirements:
- Completion of at least 24 college credit hours
- Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.7
- Support Course Grade Point Average of at least 2.7
- ACT of at least 22 ( you may participate in an Admissions Assessment A2 test to fulfill this requirement if your ACT is below a 22)
- Complete the following courses with a C or higher:
- Anatomy & Physiology I
- Anatomy & Physiology II
- Composition & Text I
- Introduction to Psychology
- Developmental/Life Span Psychology
If you do not meet these requirement or have fewer than 24 college credit hours completed you may come into the program as a transfer freshman. Please see Basic Degree Track for this information. LPN-BSN
The LPN-BSN Track is for students who have a:
- Licensed Practical Nursing license.
LPN’s will first need to apply first through our partner schools and may be admitted as a Transfer Freshman or Transfer Sophomore dependent upon which pre-requisites have been completed. Please see the Basic Track information or contact the Admissions Office at [email protected]
SECOND DEGREE TRANSFER OPTION
The Second Degree track is for students:
- With a previous college degree (BA or BS).
- Considering a new career.
Required Materials:
- Completed Application
- Official transcripts from every college attended
- Proof of enrollment in all pre-requisites (if pre-requisites are not completed at the time you apply)
Admissions Requirements:
- Bachelors degree
- Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.7 on a 4.0 scale
- Support Course Grade Point Average of at least 2.7 on a 4.0 scale
Completion of the following support courses with a grade of C or higher:
- Anatomy & Physiology I
- Anatomy & Physiology II
- Microbiology
- Introduction to Psychology
- Developmental Psychology/ Growth and Development
- Ethics
Completion of the following general education courses:
- Composition and Text 1&2
- Speech
This 2 year program begins every year the last week of May.
RN-BSN
The RN-BSN program is for students who:
- Have a current Registered Nursing License
- Have a Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
Program details:
This program is an 18-month that begins every 8 weeks! It is 100% online with experiential learning within the courses. You will complete 30 credit hours of nursing, one course at a time. It is easy on your schedule:
- Classes begin every 8 weeks.

- Online or in-person academic advising
- Information Technology support available
Requirements:
- Copy of Registered Nursing License
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
