Nursing program
- The nursing curriculum In Biola University will prepare an undergraduate for licensure as a registered nurse. In addition to practical clinical experience, you will be tutored how to incorporate your Christian faith with professional nursing skills and knowledge.
- The Biola University nursing training program is a five-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) training program.
- All pupils participate in diverse clinical nursing experiences with the collaboration of hospitals and agencies all through both Los Angeles and Orange regions with a particular emphasis on serving underserved persons.
- Opportunities for global health experiences in many different countries.
- Biola’s Simulation Lab, with several advanced patient simulators, provides an opportunity to experience some clinical realities to the delivery suite- students can develop their skills without the worry over hurting anyone.
- The nursing training program has exclusive heritage, having grown out of Biola’s School of Missionary Medicine. In keeping with this strong legacy, pupils are taught to view nursing as a ministry wherever they prefer to serve.
- Nursing graduates meet the criteria to take the examination required by the Board of Registered Nursing for licensure as a registered nurse (RN). Upon graduation, the application can be made for certification as a public health nurse.

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
- Apply to the university as a pre-clinical nursing major — pre-clinical refers to the period of time prior to working in hospitals or other health care agencies.
- In the fall of the sophomore year, you will take the clinical nursing prerequisite course, Introduction to Professional Nursing. In this class, you will review the student selection guidelines and the specific instructions for applying to clinical nursing, including the application deadline.
- Submit a complete application package by the stated deadline, including satisfactory personal references and a well-written biographical sketch meeting the criteria described on the application form.
Priority placement is awarded to students who:
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher from all colleges attended.
- Have earned a total science GPA of 3.0 or higher on required sciences.
- Have successfully completed 3 required sciences by the time of application review.
- Have demonstrated performance at or above 75 on the comprehensive TEAS nursing pre-admission test. Preparation for the test is highly encouraged.
- Have not had to repeat any required course for C- or below at Biola or at any other university or college.
- Will have completed 4 semesters as a designated nursing major at Biola prior to entering the clinical nursing program.
Minimum requirements considered for spring letter of acceptance include:
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher from all colleges attended.
- Have completed 3 of the required sciences by the time of application review.
- Have a total science GPA of 2.5 or higher on all required pre-requisite sciences.
- Have demonstrated performance at or above 65 on the comprehensive TEAS nursing pre-admission test. Preparation for the test is highly encouraged.
- Have earned a minimum grade of “C” (2.0) in all other required pre-requisite courses.
- Special circumstance: If applicant has to repeat any one required pre-requisite course for a grade of C- or lower, and then successfully repeats the required course at Biola with a grade of B or higher by the time of application review, the failure grade will not be calculated in the cumulative GPA
