Nursing Program

The Associate Degree Nursing training program is built to provide an educational possibility in pupils which includes:

• Develop a scientific foundation of nursing practice
• Master specialized skills
• Develop caring patient interactions

Nursing and science classes are limited in size to ensure that pupils can experience improved faculty interaction and also learn. Furthermore, the nursing lab will give pupils the possibility to handle equipment and also learn technical skills before their hospital experience. In the course of the second level of the training program, pupils will concentrate on specialized areas, for example, pediatric and also psychiatric nursing.

This two-year associate degree training program readies the graduate to pass the NCLEX-RN licensing exams and turn into a Registered Nurse. The training program is endorsed by the Ohio Board of Nursing. Belmont College offers Transitional Nursing program in which a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) has the chance to enter the 2nd level of the Associate Degree in the nursing training program.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

• Complete file in records office (Belmont College application, high school/GED transcript, placement test scores)
• Completion of all developmental education courses as specified by placement testing with a grade of C or better
• Completion of the following preadmission courses with a grade of C or better or in progress:
• BIO2110 A&P I
• MAT1110 Allied Health Math
• PSY1120 General Psychology
• Verification of current registry status for State Tested Nurse Assistan

LPN-AND TRANSITION

• Be a graduate of a state-approved school of practical nursing with current licensure and a GPA of 2.5.
• Meet College criteria for admission. All indicated developmental education must also be completed prior to enrollment in ADN1150 Transitional Nursing. Algebra component must be completed.
• Show evidence of completion of the following courses: BIO2110 Anatomy & Physiology I, BIO2112 Anatomy & Physiology II, BIO2120 Microbiology, ENG1110 Composition I, MAT1110 Allied Health Math, PSY1120 General Psychology, PSY1130 Human Development.
• Meet the ADN criteria for admission including current health form (within last twelve months), a current Healthcare Provider CPR card, and a background check.
