Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

• Admission to Armstrong State University. All transfer credits must be evaluated by the Registrar’s office and posted on the Armstrong transcript upon official acceptance to the University
• Must be able to meet the Core Performance Standards
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 on all attempted courses on the Program of Study for the DON
• Must achieve a cumulative score of at least 75% on the HESI Admission Assessment (A2) Exam that includes the following subject areas: anatomy & physiology, grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and general knowledge within the last year
• Successful completion of 54 semester hours in appropriate core courses prior to admission
• Sciences in Area F must have been completed within the past 10 years and with a grade of C or higher
• A grade of C or higher is required for Core Areas A, D, and F courses
• Repeating more than one course or repeating one course more than once in Areas A, D, or F to earn a passing grade of C or better, makes the student ineligible for admission
• Post Baccalaureate students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on grades earned in Math 2200, Biol 2081, Biol 2082, Biol 2275, Psyc 1101 and Psyc 2950 to be eligible to apply to the program
• All core courses and graduation requirements must be completed before beginning senior II semester of nursing.
• Students with Conditional Admission must bring proof of meeting the requirements to the School of Nursing Secretary before the beginning of the admitted semester. Failure to do so will result in removal from the admitted list

• Clinical agencies utilized by the School of Nursing require criminal background checks and/or drug testing prior to acceptance of the student into clinical facilities. Students who do not pass the criminal background check and/or drug test will be unable to attend clinical courses and, therefore, will be unable to complete their program of study resulting in course failure. Any fees or cost associated with background checks and/or drug testing are the responsibility of the student
• Students who fail out of any nursing program may be considered for readmission to Armstrong’s nursing program after a period of 3 years. Only one readmission in the nursing program per track is permitted. The student must meet all current entry requirements. Upon acceptance, the student will be required to complete all nursing courses from the beginning.
• Students must meet all legal requirements for licensure

Admission Criteria to the Accelerated BSN program

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Admission to Armstrong State University
• A grade point average of 3.2 on grades earned in Math 2200, Biol 2081, Biol 2082, Biol 2275, Psyc 1101, and Psyc 2950 without repetition of failed science courses to achieve a passing grade
• Must achieve a cumulative score of at least 75% on the HESI Admission Assessment (A2) Exam that includes the following subject areas: anatomy & physiology, grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and general knowledge within the last year
• Completion of a pre-admission interview (student will be contacted to schedule an interview)
• Verification through signature that the student will not be employed at any time while enrolled in the accelerated program
• Ability to meet all legal requirements for licensure
• Post-baccalaureate students must complete Area D’s Math 2200 Elementary Statistics and Area F with a grade of C or higher
• Post-baccalaureate students will be given credit for completion of Areas A, B, C, D, E, and PE, with the exception of MATH 2200 in Area D and US and Georgia History and Government
• Sciences in Area F must have been completed within the past 10 years with a grade of C or higher
• All core courses, including Georgia History, must be completed prior to starting the ABSN curriculum
• Must be able to meet the Core Performance Standards

• Must have a current, unemcumbered Georgia LPN license
• A minimum GPA of 2.7 on all courses taken
• For Post-baccalaureate students only, a minimum recalculated grade point average of 3.0 on grades earned in Math 2200, Biol 2081, Biol 2082, Biol 2275, Psyc 1101 and Psyc 2950
• A grade of C or higher is required for courses in Core Areas A, D, and F
• Sciences in Area F must have been completed within the past 10 years and with a grade of C or higher, including Post-baccalaureate students
• Repeating more than one course or repeating one course more than once due to course failure, in Areas A, D, or F to earn a passing grade of C, makes the student ineligible for admission
• Must achieve a cumulative score of at least 75% on the HESI Admission Assessment (A2) Exam
