Nursing Program

Alpena Community College has two nursing program choices: a one-year certificate program (Level I), and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree (Level II). These programs both have full endorsement by the State of Michigan State Board of Nursing.

Upon successful completion of Level II and with the approval of the Board of Nursing, graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN for RN licensure. Alpena Community College’s Nursing Program is a candidate of accreditation through the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.

About the school

Alpena Community College (ACC) located in Alpena, Michigan, United States was founded in 1952 and is a public two-year college, and. The college has its main campus in Alpena and an additional campus, Huron Shores, situated on the former in Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda, Michigan.

The college grants one-year certificate programs and two-year associate’s degrees to students in arts applied science general studies and science.

Alpena Community College follows a semester schedule. Students are offered classes on campus, but numerous online classes are also available to those who are not able to be present at weekly classes at the college.

Also, the fall semester usually starts in the middle of August and the spring semester commences at the beginning of January. Summer classes are about six weeks long and can begin in the middle of May or at the end of June.

Alpena Community College also presents a dual enrollment program for qualified high school students where they can join classes on campus or online.

The total estimate of tuition is $12,768

  3. Advising and Assessment
  4. Cumulative GPA
  5. PN work experience
  6. Submit the ACC nursing program Application
