Nursing program

• The baccalaureate training program (B.S.N.) at WVU is available for high school graduates who wish to a career in nursing (elementary students). The basic B.S.N. training program can be completed in 4-years at WVU’s Morgantown campus or even at WVU Institute of Technology.

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

Applicants are eligible to enter the BSN Program as freshmen. Admission is based on a combination of high school grade point average and composite ACT or total SAT scores. Students admitted directly into the nursing major as freshmen until the end of summer session of the freshman year to complete the required freshman course work.

• A GPA of 3.8 or higher, and:
• An ACT score of at least 26, or
• A pre-March 2016 SAT combined Math and Critical Reading score of at least 1190, or
• A post-March 2016 SAT EBRW and Math score of at least 1260
• A GPA of 3.6-3.9, and:
• An ACT score of at least 28, or
• A pre-March 2016 SAT combined Math and Critical Reading score of at least 1260, or
• A post-March 2016 SAT EBRW and Math score of at least 1320

Direct Admit students are guaranteed a spot in the BSN program in the sophomore year as long as they maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and pass all freshman courses with a grade of C or higher.

Pre-Nursing and other college majors may apply for admission to the School of Nursing after one semester of college course work.

• Minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale on all college work attempted
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the pre-requisite courses
• Completion of each of the pre-requisite courses with a grade of “C” or better prior to enrollment
