Nursing program

• Students seeking a B.S in Nursing will complete 4-years of regular study, comprised of general education course, nursing courses and also nursing clinical. The first-year nursing curriculum consists of general education courses like Anatomy & Physiology, English, Chemistry, and also Psychology.
• All high school pupils will apply straight to the nursing major, where they will contend for Direct Admission into the BSN major. Transition and also transfer students will complete the first-year nursing syllabus, after which they will compete/contend for any open spots in the sophomore year. Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

All high school students will apply directly to the nursing major, where they will compete for Direct Admission into the BSN major. Applicants to the Nursing program will be holistically reviewed using criteria such as high school GPA, ACT/SAT test scores, a personal statement, an essay, letters of recommendation, extra-curricular activities, honors, award recognitions, leadership roles, work/volunteer experiences, etc. Nursing admission guidelines include:

• Graduation from an accredited high school or preparatory school
• Successful completion of 19 units of college-preparatory subjects:

English (4 units); College-Prep Math (4 units); Science (3 units), including 1 unit of Biology and 1 unit of Chemistry; Social Studies (3 units); Electives (5 units).

Recommended: Foreign language, Anatomy & Physiology, upper-division Science courses, and Honors, AP, or PSEOP courses.

• Minimum high school GPA of 3.0, and a recommended minimum ACT score of 23 or an SAT score of 1070.
• Completed UC application and official high school or preparatory school transcripts.

The early action deadline for students applying as freshman to the nursing major is December 1st of the high school student’s senior year. Applications may be accepted beyond that date and offers made based on program space availability.
