As a potential nursing student, you will be guided to take the requirements for nursing from the beginning of your academic career at Barton.  You will declare your major in the spring of your freshman year, and apply for admission to the School of Nursing in the fall of your sophomore year. The process is competitive and includes meeting GPA requirements (minimum 2.7 GPA), meeting specific prerequisite course work with specified grades, completing the preadmission examination offered in the School of Nursing, and having satisfactory criminal background checks and health screenings. The requirements for successful completion of the nursing degree are rigorous. As a potential nursing student at Barton College, you are urged to prepare in high school with upper level or advanced math and science courses.
