Nursing program
- The Undergraduate Nursing Training program at CSS readies students for entry-level professional nursing practice, which includes preparing them to satisfy the needs of underserved populations. This level of education is dependent on core knowledge, and also clinical competency applied through a unique blend of critical thinking, caring, communication and also collaboration.
- Health promotion, illnesses management and also population-based care are the focus of the traditional undergraduate syllabus.
- The training program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in nursing and also qualifies the graduate to take the NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses). Graduates are also qualified to apply for registration as a Minnesota public health nurse as well as have the academic credentials to pursue graduate study in Nursing.
- The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education certifies the baccalaureate degree in Nursing Practice training program at The College of St. Scholastica.

- The College of Saint Scholastica (CSS) is a non-public college with its primary campus in Duluth, Minnesota, United States Of America. At present St. Scholastica educates over 4,000 students yearly and also has graduated over 24,000 alumni.
- The school broadened its course offerings in 1912 to include a junior college and also modified its name to The College of St. Scholastica. The School began with only 6-students, and also 52 courses were offered in 8-departments in its first year.

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
ENTER is a criterion based, early admission program for nursing students. The program is available for traditional first-year students starting their academic career at The College of St. Scholastica. Students who declare their intent to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing the first semester of their freshmen year will be guaranteed admission to that program after two years of undergraduate work if they meet the plan criteria. Transfer students are not eligible for the ENTER program. There are 112 applicants accepted into the nursing program each spring.
Guaranteed admission criteria include the following:
- Make application to the ENTER program by the end of fall semester of your freshman year. The application will be posted online in September.
- Complete 48 semester credits at CSS prior to taking spring nursing courses.
- Complete or have a plan for completing all prerequisite courses for the nursing program.
- At the time of application to the major (fall, sophomore year), have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.4 or higher.
- Obtain no grade lower than a ‘C’ in any prerequisite course.
- Obtain a minimum grade of ‘B’ in ENG 1110 First Year Composition.
- Complete the two-year Healthcare Provider CPR certification prior to the start of the nursing program.
- Complete all nursing program immunisations requirements through MyHealth.
- Complete an 80 or 125-hour Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) course.
- Complete the Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI-TEAS) entrance exam. Registration details, including test dates/times/locations will be sent to you via email.
