The A.D. Nursing training program at Pima Medical Institute readies you with the soft and hard skills essential to start your career in health-care as an entry-level registered nurse (RN). It is an extensive training that earns you an associate degree in twenty months. In school, you will take quicker courses in anatomy and physiology, growth and development, nutrition, pharmacology, nursing theory and competencies for patient care across the lifespan: from newborns to older people.

Nurses are at the center of medical care. They work directly with patients managing an array of responsibilities. They can work in varied patient care areas, for instance, labor and delivery, geriatrics, pediatrics, surgery, trauma even more. Their days are equally different as their patient’s requirements differ greatly.

Upon satisfactory completion of the training program, the pupil will Be ready to sit and take the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), administered by the State Board of Nursing. After passing, you will turn out to be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state administering the examination.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

The Pima Medical Institute (PMI) is a for-profit medical career institution that trains college students for careers as allied health-care professionals. The Pima Medical Institute is the biggest independently owned, private allied health institution in the USA and is nationally certified by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).

Pima Medical Institute was established in Tucson, Arizona, USA, in January 1972 by Richard Luebke, Sr. and his wife, JoAnn. The very first training program offered was nursing assistant. According to job demands in the community, Pima developed their programs and also campuses to replenish those needs, as well as the launch of web-based programs in 2006.

Total estimated program cost is USD $11,110

 

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  • Potential students should have a high school diploma or recognized GED equivalent.
  • A high school transcript or evidence of satisfactory completion of GED testing will be requested of applicants prior to starting class.
  • Applicants under legal age must have written approval of a parent or legal guardian. Students who are of compulsory school age may not enroll unless they have a high school diploma.
  • ACT test
  • All applicants must take an entrance exam and pass with a minimum score. This requirement may be waived for applicants, except in California, with official academic transcripts or certificate showing proof of completion of an associate degree or higher. All medical degree and certificate applicants must be interviewed prior to acceptance.
