Nursing Program

The Program for the Associate of Science in  Nursing (ASN) joins course work on campus with channeled clinical exposures in health care outfits both in Manatee and Sarasota counties. There are two tracks for the achievement of the program, the fundamental approach for candidates who have no prior nursing course work, and the switch approach for the Licensed Practical Nurse. Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate is qualified to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to get licensed as a registered nurse (RN). Upon entry into practice, the Associate in Science Degree Nursing holder is competent to use the nursing practice to deliver care for a group of patients in both acute and chronic settings. The graduate performs very well within the health care team and offers direction to less skilled workers in the execution of nursing care.
