Nursing Program
The Department of Nursing at Seminole State College has a common mission with the College in its pursuit of learner-focused, excellence learning that takes into consideration the needs of both the students and the community that it serves.
The nursing faculty takes on this obligation given the mission and purports of professional nursing practice. The rational beliefs of the faculty in the Nursing Department are anchored on their extended definitions of the four aspects of nursing’s meta-paradigm: person, health, environment, and nursing. Nursing is an evidence-based practice course, which incorporates a body of specialized understanding drawn from the physical, psychological, biological, and social sciences.
Goal of the Associate Degree Nursing Program
The aim of the Associate Degree Nursing Program is to prepare graduates to easily pass the Florida State Board Examination that will make them eligible to assume the role of the entry-level registered nurse.
The associate degree nurse employs the nursing system in assisting clients with real or possible frequently recurring health challenges. The graduate will act as an effective member of the healthcare team and helps clients to meet their spiritual and bio-psychosocial needs.
