Arkansas Northeastern College (ANC) is a community college situated in Blytheville, Arkansas, USA.

Arkansas Northeastern College is a supervisor in accessibility to higher education by: offering the traditional first 2 years of college for pupils transferring to senior colleges and universities; offering the opportunity through its technical and also professional programs to supply experienced graduates for the job market; creating liaisons with local businesses and companies through the Solutions Group; implementing a nationally accepted adult education program; providing alternatives for individual growth and development; and providing non-credit offerings via Community Education.

NURSING

The Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS) in Nursing is awarded upon successful completion of the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) training program. Arkansas Northeastern College Associate Degree Nursing training program is devoted to providing pupils the chance to acquire the required knowledge and skills to effectively pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a Registered Nurse (RN). The Associate Degree Nursing program is endorsed by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing. The Associate Degree Nursing program is offered at Arkansas Northeastern College Major Campus and the Paragould Campus by distance learning.

Students will be expected to complete standardized assessments all through the nursing curriculum and to obtain satisfactory scores on such examinations to advance through curriculum. Within the last semester of the nursing curriculum, students will be expected to obtain an acceptable score on an extensive exam. Upon successful completion of the program, the student is awarded the Associate in Applied Science Degree and may be qualified to take the National Council Licensure Examination for licensure as a Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN). Persons convicted of a crime most likely are not qualified to take the NCLEX-RN for licensure.

Total program cost is USD $10,180

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include: 

Arkansas Northeastern College operates under a non-discriminatory policy with regard to race, colour, age, religion, sex and national origin.  A thorough understanding of the curriculum, policies and standards underlying the ADN Program is essential for goal-directed behaviour and ultimate success in the completion of the nursing program.

  1. Official high school transcript or GED Test Scores (if you have never attended another college/university)
  2. Official college transcript(s) for all other colleges/universities you have attended
  3. Placement test scores—ACT, SAT, COMPASS and/or ACCUPLACER
  4. Immunization Records —students must have 2 doses of the MMR vaccine
  5. Traditional students and LPN to RN students must score 100 or greater on the PAX-RN Exam, have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 and successfully complete all pre-requisite courses to meet minimal admission requirements. A grade of “C” or above is required in all academic courses required for the nursing degree.
  6. The following are pre-requisite courses: MA 14023 Mathematical Applications for Allied Health OR
    • MA 14043 College Algebra
    • PY 23003 General Psychology
    • EN 12003 English Composition I
    • BI 24003 Anatomy & Physiology I
    • BI 24011 Anatomy & Physiology I Lab
